Official: Russian economy may start growing by H2 if no new shocks
MOSCOW, Mar 21 (PRIME) -- The Russian economy may start growing by the second half of the year already if it faces no new shocks, Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseyev said at a forum of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on Monday.
“Our economy faced three very serious shocks over the last two years. We saw a sanction shock, the first oil shock, the second oil shock, which was over several months ago,” Moiseyev said, adding that the second one had less influence on the economy than the first plunge of oil prices.
“The economy is adjusting and if there are no new shocks, it may start growing by the second half of this year,” he said.
